Local Ambassador Series

Tourism Richmond

Summary

As part of its ongoing Local Ambassador Series, Tourism Richmond partnered with Arkitek Creative to produce a pair of cinematic profile videos celebrating the city’s creative energy and community pride. The dual-feature campaign spotlights two local figures: artist Laura Kwok, whose vibrant illustrations capture Richmond’s cultural texture, and radio host Drew Savage, whose voice connects residents to the heart of the community.

Each video blends intimate storytelling with dynamic cinematography, portraying Richmond through the lens of its people — creative, authentic, and proudly local. The result is a content package designed to inspire visitors and residents alike while amplifying Richmond’s identity as a hub of creativity and connection.

Scope of Work

• 2 × Hero profile videos (Laura Kwok, Drew Savage)

• Multi-format social cutdowns (16:9, 1:1, 9:16)

• Branded motion graphics package

• B-roll libraries for tourism and community use

Approach

The campaign was produced as a dual-profile narrative designed to capture Richmond’s creative energy and community voice through authentic, cinematic storytelling. Each feature was approached as a portrait — one focused on local artistry, the other on cultural connection.

Cultural Focus

Arkitek profiled artist Laura Kwok, capturing her creative process, studio environment, and the visual storytelling behind her artwork. The segment celebrates Richmond’s local artistry, colour, and cultural vibrancy.

Community Voice

The second profile featured radio host Drew Savage, highlighting his role as a familiar local voice and connector within the Richmond community. Filming at the radio studio and around town, the piece grounded the campaign in genuine neighbourhood character.

Versatile Delivery

To maximize the campaign’s reach, Arkitek produced multiple cutdowns for use across Tourism Richmond’s digital, social, and partner platforms — ensuring each story could be shared natively across contexts and screen formats.

Through personal storytelling and cinematic craft, the Local Ambassador Series celebrated Richmond’s local heroes while reinforcing the city’s creative identity and community pride.
